Competition Composites Inc. and Gunboat: partnering to shape
the future of high end performance multihulls

Ottawa, ON, CANADA – June 4, 2012

Competition Composites Inc. (CCI Canada) is proud to announce they have been awarded a significant manufacturing contract for the newly released Gunboat 55, a high performance catamaran designed by Nigel Irens. Against fierce competition, CCI was chosen as preferred supplier based on their offerings of performance and price for the high end circumnavigator. CCI will be producing both the centreboards and rudders for the Gunboat 55. Each vessel produced will be equipped with a spare rudder.

“We’re looking forward to working with CCI. They have an excellent reputation and have already proven to be a responsive and attentive vendor to us,” said Peter Johnstone, President, Gunboat International. CCI will begin the work on the foils immediately with additional opportunities with Gunboat likely to appear over a long and mutually beneficial business relationship. Having just returned from a Gunboat site visit in North Carolina, Dave Bradly, CCI President said, “There is great synergy between ourselves and Gunboat as we are driven to providing best value high performance for our customers with great products and support
for life.”

CCI, now celebrating its tenth year in the manufacturing of high end sailboat products, such as centreboards and rudders, can add the Gunboat 55 to its already impressive list of clients of custom foils such as the Melges and J/Boats. CCI has also manufactured various products for the automotive and military industries, such as lightweight durable composite flat panels.
